How Do I Make A Photo Pen?
February 18th, 2009 · No Comments
1. Insert your photo into the EZ resizer program. When selecting a photo, try to choose (or crop your photo to) a tall rectangular photo. Select the “Custom” feature at the bottom of the individual photo size dropdown. Enter the dimensions Height : 70 Width: 35. You will also need to change the rows and columns to 1 and 1 so that the photo will fit on the page.
2. Create your PDF. If your photo looks smashed, crop it to be more horizontally narrow.
3. Print your photo on regular printer paper NOTE: do not use photo paper or your pen will not close properly. You will not need to change the paper size settings on the EZ resizer program from their defaults. After you have printed the photo, cut it out.
4. Unscrew the pen from the grip. The front end of the pen will come off. Remove the ink and be careful not to lose the spring!
5. Gently remove the clear plastic barrel from the pen. Carefully roll your photo around the silver tube of the pen, and underneath the black clip. Consider which way the pen will face when you write when you are placing the photo so that it is not upside down. Do not roll the photo into the clear tube first or you may find that your pen will not close properly.
6. Turn the black plastic clip until the slots line up and it locks into place. Slide the tube over the photo and underneath the clip. Make sure you are putting the slightly larger end on first, and that the paper is not covering the notch at the top of the tube or the pen will not close. DO NOT force the tube on or it will crack. If you are having trouble getting the tube on, adjust the paper so it is further away from the notch.
7. After you have slid the tube on, reinsert the ink, slide the spring back on, and screw the grip end back on. Your photo pen is complete!
If you have any questions regarding the photo pen, feel free to contact us at photojewelry@gmail.com

Making Your EZ Change Necklace Permanent
February 9th, 2009 · No Comments
Q: I bought an EZ-change necklace kit. It was really fun and easy, and everyone loves it, but I decided I want to make my photos permanent in the necklace with clear coating now. Can I do this?
A: The kit comes with a plastic sleeve for easily sliding your photos into. This makes them easily changeable for any time you wish to switch out the photos. While this option is simple and attractive, you may at some point in time decide you want to seal your photos into the pendant more permanently. You can order a set of clear coating from our website (www.photojewelrymaking.com) at any time you wish. To seal your photos, you will need to remove the plastic piece and get a piece of thick paper (preferably a scrap of photo paper). Cut the photo paper to twice the length of the photo in the frame, and fold it in half. Make sure it is wide enough to completely fill the edges of the frame. Slide it in the center between the photos to keep them sealed in securely. Mix the clear coating according to the directions on the clear coating sheet, and carefully apply coating to the photo area. If you cut and folded your paper correctly, no coating should leak through to the opposite side. Wait 24 hours for coating to seal and harden, then do the other side. Your photo necklace will be a beautiful professional photo jewelry piece.

How Do I Make Bubble Photo Jewelry?
January 12th, 2009 · No Comments
Making bubble photo jewelry is fun and easy! In bubble dot projects, you will be using the clear coating as a glue.
1. Resize your photos to the correct size with the EZ resizer software. Print them out and glue them down to the item you are making with a small amount of super glue, just to keep them from moving around while you are working.
2. Mix the clear coating and activator (see clear coat directions - 1:1 mixture). When it has been mixed, apply a thin layer to the photo.
3. Gently set the bubble dot onto the clear coating. Make sure you do not have too much clear coat on the photo or it will overflow when you apply the bubble dot. IMPORTANT: While it is important to not have too much coating and cause an overflow, make sure you have enough so that a little bit of coating comes up around the sides to touch the rim of the bubble dot. This is so that when it dries, it will seal into place and your bubble dot will not fall off later.
4. Wait for the clear coating to dry (24-48 hours) and your bubble dot jewlery will be ready to wear!
